Minutes for LEMS General Meeting on April 13, 2005

Meeting officially called to order at 3:34 PM
Doug Smith (Current Chief/President)
- Commended
members on better attendance at this General Meeting
- Stressed
the importance of getting all call reports in to the Health Services
closet or to him personally ASAP
- Obtained
binders for two new members of the LEMS executive board.
- After
meeting, went with all interested members to visit the potential site for
a LEMS storage room in the Cromwell basement.
- All
new Line and Executive Board members, please email Doug with email
addresses, screen names, and other contact information. He plans to meet with each member to
discuss goals for next semester and review expectations for each role.
- Thanked
all LEMS crew members who covered the many standby events last weekend.
Bruce Cheong (Current Deputy Chief)
- Passed
out a list of new call numbers for LEMS crew members effective
immediately. If your name was not
on the new list, please email Bruce with your name, certification level,
and current number. If you do not
know what your new call number is, please email Bruce cheong2@tcnj.edu
- New
crew chiefs are needed for next semester.
There are currently 6 returning crew chiefs and 3-4 more are
needed. SOP’s for crew chiefs were
reviewed – requirements: EMT for 6 months, LEMS member for at least 1
semester, must be nominated. If
interested, contact Bruce cheong2@tcnj.edu
- New
duty shifts for next semester will be set up at the next LEMS general
meeting (4/27/05). Please bring
class schedules to the meeting so you can choose preferred days for duty
shift.
Caroline Vizthum (Past Deputy Chief)
- Members
needed to cover a Lacrosse standby event this Friday night (4/15/05) at 7
PM with Kristin. If interested,
email Caroline vizthum2@tcnj.edu
- For
all those interested in becoming a new crew chief, standby events are an
excellent opportunity to demonstrate your treatment skills.
Kevin Mnich (Current Training/Personnel Captain)
- First
Aid class will be held 4/13/05 from 8-11 PM in Wolfe 8 Lounge.
- Senior
Week applications are due this Friday (4/15/05).
- Three
more spots are open for members to participate in Welcome Week starting
Aug. 22. EMT certification is
required. If interested, email Kevin mnich2@tcnj.edu
- Members
are needed for LEMS coverage of May 13th Graduation Day. It runs from about 7AM-3PM. If interested, email Kevin.
- CPR
recertification class will be held Friday 4/15/05 in Wolfe 8 Lounge from
8-11 PM. If interested, email
Kevin.
Ricky Blasi (Current Equipment
Officer)
- Next
Wednesday at 5 PM, SFB will be doing an inventory of LEMS equipment. Please return all equipment – pagers,
bags, radios- etc. to the closet before this time. Crew chiefs, please return your radios
to the closet during the time of the inventory.
- Continue
signing out equipment and calling crew chiefs during regular duty shifts.

Special Events)

Needs money for the End-of-the-Year LEMS Banquet
ASAP. If you have not yet paid, drop off
the money in Carolyn’s room – Decker 144.

Menus for the Banquet will be emailed out soon.

Chair/Webmaster)

Received files from Bruce for updating the LEMS
website. Will update the website soon.
Charlie Concodora (Current Growth
Chair)

Forming the growth committee for next year. All interested members met after the meeting
to review SOP’s and other issues. If
interested in joining the committee, email Charlie concodo2@tcnj.edu.
