Matt Meigh (LEMS Member)

  • Special Announcement:
    • Informed members of the upcoming LDP Leadership Lockup
    • Itineraries and registration forms were made available
    • Good place for LionsEMS to make a name on campus, network, and meet other leaders on campus
    • Occurs the day before class next semester; move-in one day early

Doug Smith (Chief/President)

  • LionsEMS bags were just restocked

 

 

Bruce Cheong (Deputy Chief)

  • General email will be sent out to all members
    • If you are interested in responding as an active duty crew member next semester, reply to the email with your preferred responding dates, etc.
  • Received checks for standby events covered by LionsEMS - $385

 

Ricky Blasi (Equipment Captain)

  • Keep the bags stocked

 

Nicole Gerber (Executive Vice President)

  • A problem was encountered with the T-shirt order so they will be delayed
  • If any member still wants a T-shirt, email the LionsEMS account and drop off the money at Health Services

 

Chris McKittrick

  • Planning the End of Semester Party
    • Will obtain a screen and speakers for a movie
    • Food – probably pizza and soda
    • Most likely will take place in a residence hall
    • Anyone interested in being part of the committee for the “special surprise”, email the LionsEMS account

 

Regina Cummings (Treasurer)

  • Searching for a T-shirt company to make the LionsEMS T-shirts
  • Sweatshirts: if you would still like one, give $25 to Regina by December 10th
  • Inquired what she should do with the money from the cancelled First Aid class
    • Was informed that she should ask Kevin
  • SFB threatened to freeze the LionsEMS account due to a mistake; the problem was resolved
  • Money is still owed to the American Cross

 

LionsEMS Officer Nominations:

Requirements:

For active duty crew members, be on a duty crew and go on one standby/month

For non-duty crew members, go to 50% of the LionsEMS general meetings and cover any of the publicity events

 

This is a one semester position

 

Secretary:

  • Job description: compile minutes, take attendance, send out emails for meeting reminders, compile member directory information
  • Jessica Paciorek nominated

 

 

Growth Chair:

  • Job description: helps obtain member perks for organization, review and modify club Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • George Apostolopoulos and James Preciado nominated

 

Publicity:

  • Job description: maintain the website, place picture of events on website – will have a committee to help run off, and put up fliers around campus
  • Thomas Paulmann nominated

“DRILL”

Scott Sferra, in charge of holding the drill, was unable to make the meeting

  • Bloodborne pathogens
  • Main threats are hepatitis B and AIDS virus
    • Hepatitis B virus may stay active in dried blood for up to a month
  • A biobag is found in LionsEMS bag
    • When filled, dispose of the biobag in the closet directly across from the LionsEMS supply closet
    • Write on the sheet the estimated weight of the biobag contents
