Need coverage for an hour this Sunday from 12-1 at Powderpuff football
-Jay may cover, pending George finding out if its ok for us to just not be there for a hour
Next meeting will include skits – watch for an email this week.
Holly Heller (Advisor)
Yellow card/immunization record procedure changed because there is a lot of personal information on the yellow cards.
-We have a new list/sheet that has everyone who has filled all the requirements on there.
Our budget was increased $1000 for this year
Intended so we can buy fleeces or jackets
Our AED contract has expired
We need to renew the contract through Capital Health
We need to update the AED to reflect the changes to CPR
CPD also hasn’t has theirs updated yet
Our AED may not be working
Nicole, George will check on this
We also need to be trained on the AED briefly after the update gets done
Housing
We can have up to six early arrivals for the spring semester
Will need to submit list to Res Life by November
Oxygen supply
-Kennedy no longer going to do it for us
-Looking for a new company just to fill the tanks we own, because renting is expensive and we don’t need to.
Scott
will be helping us potentially fill our tanks through
We would then make a donation to Pennington
Campus PD could also potentially help us out.
Swipe access
-Crew chiefs were supposed to get
this (Nicole,
Swapping keys between last year’s line and this year’s for health services was OK. Everyone who needs a key has one.
Scott Sferra
(Advisor)
Working on
setting up training classes with
-CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, CEUs, Core 13 all a possibility in the future
-All we have to do is figure out when we want to have them and how many people we have signed up, and we can organize any classes.
When on a call and Pennington Rd (or another ambulance company) is coming to transport, please have someone come down and let the crew into the building, as they do not have access after midnight. This has already been a problem.
George
Apostolopoulos (Deputy Chief)
Crew chiefs, please send out personal emails to your crews reminding them to do standbys. We are not getting enough members to do standbys. Remind them of active membership requirements and the option for guaranteed housing.
We are not getting adequate call volume for training co-CC’s. We may want to set up some training in the future to expedite this.
Will send out a general reminder email regarding standbys, community fest and six flags.
Will deal with getting uniforms out of the closet and distributing them for community fest volunteers.
Jim has been coordinating the volunteers so far and will do so until he leaves on Friday afternoon.
There are some new members who need orientations.
We have a preliminary draft of an “intoxication cheat sheet” for calls. We will use this to run a drill on how to appropriately handle alcohol calls before it goes into service in any form. If it goes into service there will be a disclaimer attached.
Classes
CPR will be 10/15 – a four hour class
First Aid will be 10/28
Prices TBA
-Books will have to be purchased for CPR because the material is all new.
November 29th – blood borne pathogens; at our meeting
Core 13 – first weekend in December, 3 days.
Discussion ensued about possibly going out of service over fall break, depending on crew chief availabilities.
Jay Preciado (Exec VP)
More membership apps coming in – directory will be updated
T Shirt order will be going in after the next meeting
Jess will send email reminders about bringing money
Sweatshirt order will go in later
We will be switching companies, maybe to the one that does the shirts
We may need to switch the design of the sweatshirts because of the athletic logo
Maybe we can use the T shirt design for the new sweatshirts
Jessica Paciorek (Secretary)
No news.
Mike Rossetti (Treasurer)
We are being audited by SFB
We need to produce:
2 speaker microphones for the vortex radios
8 radios
The polo shirts
Hopefully our rep can attend our meeting next week, since we’ll be bringing all the radios over anyway.
Andres Acosta (Growth)
Meeting set up with Sean Stallings to go over the Res Life SOP’s
May also include: the committee, Mike Robbins, the crew chiefs, and campus PD
We should look into getting the old BSC computer lab as our room
-However, this doesn’t have outside access, which means it couldn’t be a ready room.
-Holly will talk to the VP of Student Life and the head of the BSC for us
Jim Garvey (VP Member Services)
Community fest – this weekend
Three shifts
- the first shift needs to get there at 9.30 to get us set up
- All of the shifts will be doing BP screenings, and backboarding whenever
We have a copy of last months NJFAC meeting minutes
The next
meeting is in
Jim, Andres and possibly Jessica will attend
Halloween party ideas for the 10/25 meeting
Food (munchkins?), activities (no cravat fashion show L)
Tom Paulmann (Publicity)
The committee met this week
Posters are in progress
Community fest pamphlet has been finished
We are preapproved for a student center banner
We are looking into business cards
Kelly Gilsenan (Fundraising)
We have Six Flags on 10/29
Four or five people are signed up and we need 10
Ideas for the future:
-A “topless” carwash – we are fully clothed, but don’t tell people that. Then we charge them extra to wash the top of their car.
-Cold Stone Fundraiser – it is easy and makes a lot of money.
