WASSERBURG

The Mozart family accompanied by one servant, Sebastien Winter, arrived in Wasserburg after midnight on June 10, and stayed at Gasthof  "Zum Goldenen Stern" (Golden Star Inn). Wasserburg is about half way between Salzburg and Munich, and became a frequent stop for Mozart and his family. Their carriage had suffered a broken wheel and while it was being repaired, they remained there until June 12. Perhaps it was on June 11 that Leopold brought his seven year old son to Stadtfarrkirch St. Jakob (St. James Church), where he taught him to use the pedals at the organ.
