Will communication between computations adversely affect the performance of the RVM? Communication between computations is an essential feature of grid applications, but is complicated by the uncertain and changing locations of the computations. The computations have to be able to communicate in some way with the computers they may be running on at the time of execution so they can decide whether or not they have enough resources available to complete the computations. If there aren't enough resources, the computations need to be able to communicate with other computers on the grid so they can find the resources they need to finish executing. Greg Adkins will be designing and implementing a communication model for the Mobile Computational System.
