The main goal of this project was to enhance my large html project site by adding FLASH technology as if I were contracted to do this. The FLASH enhancement was to get visitors pumped about visiting the site while informing about brand names. Also, the FLASH clip attempts to give an impression that this particular sporting goods store is focused on younger athletes and home town sports.
The theme of this site is a model for small sporting goods store that is owned by a friend of mine. This site contains an easy to navigate interface that shows sale specials, contact information, a search engine and a shopping cart interface.
The Flash clip starts with a background picture of three young male football players. The sound clip starts and then a motion tween of text information containing brand and sport names begins which also includes a series of arrows flying across the screen left to right expanding and dissolving. The main mask layer appears and reveals a series of photos of you and older athletes layered between the background and the mask. This mask repeats throughout the entire movie clip. A second mask layer follows behind the main mask and move across the entire canvas. This mask layer only appears once. Soon after the bleacher scene, the fireworks scene starts and finishes the flash clip with a transition to the logo and a link button. The last scene shows another ten seconds of fireworks while fading the audio clip.
Techniques used:
I think the most challenging elements of this project was keeping the page well organized and easy to adjust. One noticeable item using the Macromedia Flash MX2004 product was that the clips behavior was different on the web site than on the local movie tests. Timing the audio and video for time synchronization for certain scenes was not easily accomplished and became tedious.
