Here's To New Jersey

Section: New Jersey and You, Perfect together

New Jersey is "America the Beautiful...only smaller." In New Jersey, you can walk in Washington's footsteps, bask on the glorious ocean shore, and enjoy a nightlife of world-class gaming, all in the same day.

Down the Shore:
The Jersey shore is 127 miles long. It's no wonder New Jersey was the first state to have lifeguards. Get the best of all possible worlds in the Shore Region. First, there's all that swimming, surfing, fishing, water sports, strolling and sunbathing along miles of pristine beaches. But you are never far from incredible food, a stellar cultural event, or even a walk through history. It's also home to the white house - the famous White House sub shop in Atlantic City, that is. The shop's been churning out its famous sandwiches since the 1940s. Atlantic City receives more than 32 million visitors a year. Many visitors head to the shore town's many casinos, hoping Lady Luck will bring them good fortune.

Discover Jersey Arts. Fine and performing arts venues have made New Jersey a preeminent arts and cultural center, offering plays, concerts and museum exhibitions of the highest caliber.

Scream with excitement or jump for joy at Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park. And when you've recovered from the roller coasters and drive-through Wild Safari Animal Park, test the wild waters at Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

Sample the concerts and music at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, or catch some outstanding entertainment at Red Bank's Count Basie Theatre. See headline performers at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, or the live Saturday night bluegrass, country and folk concerts at Waretown's Albert Music Hall. Don't miss the summer stock charm of a classic full stage musical at Beach Haven's Surflight Theatre, a professional show at the historic Strand Theatre in Lakewood, or at the Fine Arts Center in Toms River. You can enjoy the "night" sounds and camp out under the stars at any one of the dozens of campgrounds and parks located throughout the region. For daytime solitude try walking one of the longest natural dune barrier beaches in the northeast at Island Beach State Park.
Hunt for bargains at the Englishtown Flea Market Auction. Search for the special memento at a gallery of New Jersey artists and craftsmen or find that special treasure in an antique shop.

With everything from seaside thrills to amusement park chills, you won't run out of fun and excitement in the Shore Region.
