School of Nursing Alumni Organization
The School of Nursing Alumni Organization is a group of committee alumni who want to stay involved with the School and the College of New Jersey by contributing in a variety of ways. The Organization is comprised of five committees that address issues relevant to students, alumni and faculty. For more information about how to get involved, please e-mail the committee chairs (as noted), or administrators at nursing@tcnj.edu. Communications

This group's goal is to expand modes of communication to TCNJ SON Alumni. Primary objectives will be to more fully develop the Alumni database, to assist with publication of the SON Newsletter, and to serve as a resource to other committees when trying to contact alumni.
Mentoring

This group's goal will be to serve as a resource for SON Students as they face issues of transitioning from The College to the workplace. Primary objectives will be to provide assistance and advisement at the PNOS Career Fair, to assist individual students in their career planning, and to serve as a resource pool to faculty looking for experienced professionals to speak in their classes on issues of professional development.

This group's goal will be to serve as a resource to all of the other committees in helping them plan and implement various alumni functions. Primary objectives will be working with the Mentoring Committee to provide greater alumni involvement in Graduation and Pinning, working with the Communications Committee to develop a recurring alumni event at Homecoming, and working with the Education committee to develop continuing education programs for alumni.

This group's goal will be to serve as an educational resource to faculty. Primary objectives will include developing continuing education or professional development events for alumni, and serving as a resource pool to faculty looking for experienced professionals to speak in their classes.
Recruitment

This group's goal will be to assist the School of Nursing in recruiting qualified applicants to it's generic BSN program, it's RN to BSN program and all of it's Post Baccalaureate and Graduate programs. Primary objectives will include serving as a resource to the School of Nursing during admissions open houses and scholars receptions, and assisting with contacting students after they have been admitted and providing information about the program.
