Our events are spread out over three different websites. To get all the information in one spot make sure to always start here; we'll help you keep it all straight. You can also check out our ideas for future events and help us get some of them going.
Major events like the Sorting Ceremony or Victory Feast are listed on this page since they occur every year. While more information may be found on our Facebook or blog for each year's event, the basics are still listed here. From there every event will get a Facebook event created for it that can be found through our Facebook group. All members will always be invited. Additional event information will be found on our blog from time to time and links for that will be on the Facebook event or in the mailing list e-mail.
Meetings
Meetings will be held on Tuesdays at 8:30. The room will be determined and listed in our e-mail.
Yearly Events
First-Year Social
It can be intimidating as a first-year (or "freshman" as you might call it) to join a new club. That's why before our Sorting Ceremony we like to have a First-Year Social. All incoming freshman (or new members) are invited to our First-Year Social. There our sorting procedures for the year will be explained to you and you will be able to fill our the sorting information. You will not be informed of your house, however, until the Sorting Ceremony.
Our Sorting Ceremony will be the opening ceremony of every Fall semester. It will serve as the first official meeting of The Order and involve presenting our Prefects for the year, our Head Boy and Girl for the semester, and sorting our new members into their houses. Members are encouraged to dress up for the ceremony and will receive points for doing so.
To end the Fall semester and encourage inter-House unity, join us for our semi-formal Yule Ball. We like to try and do this event in a way to keep the cost down for our members but have something you'll remember for years to come. So save the date; we plan early and plan with you in mind.
Because we can't always drive down to our friends at WM, why not join us for some spring fun at our version of a Hogsmeade Fair? A little bit of Quidditch, some stands to spend your money on, and a chance to reach out to everyone at TCNJ. What more could you want in an event?
Our Victory Feast serves five main purposes:
- Our House Cup winners will be announced and the Feast decorated in their honor.
- Our last event of the year, this will serve as our closing ceremony for the Spring semester.
- With VV Day (Victory over Voldemort Day) on May 2nd, our Victory Feast will commemorate the Final Battle.
- We'll also celebrate the end of the HP saga and, last but not least,
- The Order's passing on TCNJ campus which allows us to hold these events.
