"What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed? Only innocent lives, Peter."Q
This semester the Order of the Nose-Biting Teacups is sponsoring the folding of 1000 paper cranes in honor of Sadako Sasaki and children around the world. In the Japanese tradition of Senbazuru it is said that each crane brings luck to whoever folds it. ONBT is asking for people to sponsor cranes for $1 each. Anyone who sponsors a crane can dedicate that crane to someone and their name will be written on the crane after it is folded. This will bring good luck to the folder, the sponsor, and the dedicatee. The first $100 we collect will go to the Harry Potter Alliance, a non-profit organization which focuses on ridding the world of different "horcruxes," such as poverty and intolerance. We chose to donate the first $100 to them because ONBT just opened a new chapter of the HPA. The rest of the money we collect will be donated to Autism Speaks, another non-profit organization dedicated to autism research. We chose this charity because it will benefit children in need. Anyone who wants to sponsor a crane can contact any club member or e-mail the club.
The above figure is a visual representation of the money that has been raised so far and how much is left to raise. It also shows the distribution of cranes folded by the different houses.
