Audition Information

ALL ARE WELCOME TO AUDITION (both music majors and non-majors), with any repertoire or choice of composers that you have ready to perform.

At the audition, please be prepared to play:

A fast, or moderately fast excerpt of a work of your choice which displays technical skill, control, and musicianship

A contrasting slow section of a work of your choice which displays technical skill, control, and musicianship

Major and minor key scales

Additionally, those auditioning will be asked to sight read a short passage of music

Musicians who wish to audition for principal positions should say so at their auditions. Principal positions (including concertmaster) may change with different pieces and in different semesters.
