Rehearsal Curriculum
The Orchestra will meet to rehearse every:
Monday from 4:00 to 5:20
Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:20
Thursday from 4:00 to 5:20
First rehearsal for Mahler Chamber Orchestra (see Current Repertoire) will be August 30th.
From August 30th through October 13, chamber orchestra rehearsals will be in the Choir Room in the Music Department (room 27).
From October 20th until December 8th, the full orchestra (see Current Repertoire) rehearsals will take place in the Band room in the Music Department (room 20).
From time to time, rehearsals will also take place in Mayo Concert Hall
Attendance policy and grading:
The student’s grade is mostly based on attendance. Students are allowed to miss one single rehearsal per semester without this absence affecting their grade, but must notify the director and the assistant conductor via e-mail before the absence occurs. Absences accompanied by a doctor’s note are also excused without grades being affected.
Starting in 2011, any student who misses a rehearsal must make an individual appointment with the director to play through the material that the student missed.
