Actors Danny Glover and Felix Justice highlight Black History Month at The College of New Jersey

EWING, NJ ... In celebration of Black History Month, actors Danny Glover and Felix Justice will perform “An Evening With Martin and Langston” in Kendall Hall on Thursday, February 28. Social activist Angela Davis will also speak to the campus community on February 20.

Glover and JusticeGlover and Justice’s one-of-a-kind evening of performance and theatrical readings begins with actor/director Justice virtually transforming himself into legendary civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Justice presents two of King’s most inspiring speeches before he is followed on stage by his old friend Glover.

As Langston Hughes, Glover brings to life the unique words and rhythms of one of our country's most celebrated African American writers. Following the performances, Justice and Glover will appear together for questions and answers.

Danny Glover is perhaps best known for his series of Lethal Weapon movies. He is a graduate of San Francisco State College and trained at the Black Actors’ Workshop of the American Conservatory Theatre. Among his credits he has starred in “The Color Purple,” “Silverado,” “Predator 2,” “Grand Canyon,” “A Rage in Harlem,” “Angels in the Outfield” and the mini-series “Lonesome Dove.” Glover is the recipient of two NAACP Image awards including his most recent for his title role portrayal in HBO’s “Mandela.” He is also a member of the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame.

Felix Justice grew up in South Carolina and studied theatre in San Francisco. He has been acting and directing for over thirty years. His one man Martin Luther King Jr. show, “Prophecy in America,” premiered at the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre in San Francisco in 1981 and has toured widely in the United States and Africa.
