Letter from the President

The College of New Jersey has adopted a new graphic identity, which includes a handsome shield and a distinctive
configuration of the College's full name, along with specific guidelines for their use. Together, these elements
create a signature look for the College's communications.
This new identity speaks to the College's culture of excellence and its awareness of best practices, while making
reference to the Georgian Colonial style of the campus. It is versatile and appropriate for use in all media.
The new identity was developed by The North Charles Street Design Organization of Baltimore, Maryland, based on
research that involved interviews with a wide range of College constituencies.
We are pleased to present our new graphic identity to the greater TCNJ community. Its consistent use will be
vital to its effectiveness in communicating the College's distinctive brand.
This manual outlines procedures and standards to guide you in using the new logo in a variety of applications.
Schools, departments, offices, and programs of the College that communicate with external audiences
will be expected to use the new visual identity in these approved formats. Also included are TCNJ's editorial
guidelines.
Used correctly and consistently, this visual identity will, over time, help to build a strong, coherent brand for
the entire College and all of its divisions.
Thank you for helping to make this new program a success.
R. Barbara Gitenstein
