TCNJ Rises in U.S. News List of Best Colleges

US News Ranking The College of New Jersey once again is the top public college in U.S. News and World Report's list of Best Universities-Master's category for the northern region of the country. The College climbed one spot to the number four overall (public and private) ranking in its region, where 165 schools were ranked.


Breathtaking Design and State-of-the-Art Amenities Highlight New Library

New LibraryAfter nearly seven years of anticipation and preparation, the major objectives for the completion of the new library now consist of polishing the rich cherry banisters and thoroughly vacuuming and sweeping up 134,000 square feet of floor, all in time for the start of the 2005-2006 academic year.


TCNJ Hosts Summer Concert Series

JazzFestDuring the month of July, faculty, staff, and various other campus-goers were delighted by the sounds and visual spectacles created by the participants in the 2005 Governor’s School for the Arts.


New Faces, New Places

The College welcomes many new faculty members this fall and has undergone serveral changes within its administrative ranks.


Whitman Symposium to Draw Top Scholars

Whitman Symposium LogoFrom September 22 through September 24, The College of New Jersey will host a three-day symposium celebrating the 150th anniversary of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. The symposium coincides with the College's own sesquicentennial celebration. The symposium, which is open to the public, will feature some of the nation's most prominent poets, scholars, and intellectuals and will attract teachers and scholars from around the region.


Triefeldt Sculpture on Display at Franklin Institute

Triefeldt SculptureThe unpredictable artwork of Rein Triefeldt, adjunct professor of art at the College, is now a permanent fixture in the Franklin Institute’s newest exhibit, Sir Isaac’s Loft: Where Art and Physics Collide. The exhibit opened to the public on July 15.

 


Warren Elected to National Hall of Fame

Tracey WarrenTracy Warren, a standout softball player and 1987 broadcast communications graduate of the College, was inducted into the CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame on July 6.

 

 


New Program Offers Alternate Route to Special Education Certification

Due to a nationwide shortage of teachers to staff classrooms for special education children, The College of New Jersey has designed an Alternate Route to Special Education certification program, new for the 2005-2006 academic year.
