Sand Mandala Ritual
The Religious Studies Committee at The College of New Jersey received a $10,000 grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities to support the project "The Creation and Contestation of Sacred Space.” The project intertwines a one-day symposium and a week-long demonstration of a Tibetan Buddhist sand mandala ritual, both of which were held in February. Together, these events explored the importance of sacred spaces within a variety of global religious traditions.
