My name is Meghan Bermudez and I am
the current president of the Panhellenic Council at The College of New Jersey. I
would like to welcome you all to our new website. It is new and improved and I
hope it serves as a more useful tool for accessing information about Panhellenic.
The Panhellenic Council is
the governing and communicative body that unites the seven social
sororities on the TCNJ campus. Panhellenic promotes interaction between
the social sororities on our campus in an effort to facilitate unity
within the Greek community. The Panhellenic Council works in conjunction
with the Inter-Greek Council to plan service projects, educate new
members, and promote academic excellence among fraternity men and women.
The Panhellenic Council
promotes and rewards academic excellence among its members. Through
programs like the academic roundtable which is held each semester the
Panhellenic Council educates members on ways to achieve academic
success. Panhellenic women are rewarded for their academic achievement
through awards programs showcasing their dedication. The dedication that
Panhellenic women have to their academic success at The College of New
Jersey is exemplified in the Social Sorority GPA. Last semester the GPA
for the seven Panhellenic sororities was a 3.277. This was higher than
the GPAs for social fraternities and multicultural organizations.
Panhellenic
women are leaders on the TCNJ campus. In addition to be actively
involved in their chapters, Panhellenic women are involved extremely
involved in the campus community. These women are involved in student
government, residence life, intramural and Varsity sports, and countless
other on-campus organizations. Many Panhellenic women hold on-campus
jobs, while others volunteer their time in service of their fellow
students. Panhellenic women bring the high standards and ideals of their
own chapters, as well as those of the Panhellenic Council, to each task
they undertake.
As the upcoming recruitment
period quickly approaches I would like to wish each organization the
best of luck. While recruitment is a very busy and often stressful time
every effort is made worthwhile with the addition of new members that
not only exemplify the ideals of each chapter, but those of the
Panhellenic Community as a whole. |
