CHAPTER MINUTES

November 17, 1999

 

Present: Deborah Compte, Edward Conjura, Neil Greenbaun, Jo Ann Gross, Nancy Hingston, Annemarie Mills, Aigli Papantonopoulou, Beth Paul , and Jesse Rosenblum

 

  1. Student – Faculty Research Scholarships for Spring, 2000 – Members voted to award scholarships to: 1) Beth Kaboski and Dr. Diane Kobrynowicz (Psychology); 2) Jessica Walker and Dr. P. Andrew Leynes (Philosophy and Psychology); and Malinda Wolfgang and Dr. Blythe Hinitz ( Elementary and Early Childhood Education and History).
  2. Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship – A. Mills reported that she sent letters to approximately 400 eligible seniors which generated much interest in applications for the graduate fellowship. The chapter deadline for applications is February 1, 2000. Members are asked to review and rank all applications between February 2nd and February 9th for discussion at the next chapter meeting (February 9, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. in Green 107).
  3. New Faculty/Staff Nominations – All members are asked to review the attached membership list and solicit interest from current faculty and staff for membership. Members will vote on new faculty/staff nominations at the next meeting. Please bring a c.v. to the next chapter meeting (February 9, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. in Green 107) for all nominees under consideration.
  4. Promotion of Excellence Grant – M. O’Connell was not present to provide an update. She will call the national office to clarify the application deadlines for future grants.
