Graduate Fellowship - A. Mills will send information to deans, chairs, current members, and all seniors with a 3.5+ g.p.a. Those interested in applying should contact her for an application in October.

Student-Faculty Research Scholarship Update

• A. Mills circulated the National Runner-Up Award for "Programs Encouraging the Pursuit of Excellence" presented to the college at the national convention this past summer.

• All faculty and staff are encouraged to solicit applications for the Spring 1998 student-faculty research scholarships due to Green Hall 207 by November 7, 1997.

Faculty/Staff Nominees for Membership - Please bring vitae for all nominees to the next meeting for vote. The chapter will elect four new members this year.

Election of Officers - Election of officers is scheduled for the next meeting.

Summer Student-Faculty Research Proposal - N. Greenbaun discussed his progress in researching available grants to support this program. He will continue his exploration of funding and report at the next meeting.

Freshmen Recognition - A. Mills reported that the chapter sent congratulatory letters to 162 freshmen who achieved a 3.5 or higher g.p.a. at the end of their first year.
