During inclement weather, each member of the campus community should be familiar with the notification procedures for school closing or late opening information.
The campus community will be notified the following ways:
1. If The College will be closing, or opening late, a blanket voice mail message will be sent to all campus extensions. Simply access your voice mail from your remote location by dialing 609/771-2050. Then follow the prompts to listen to your messages. No message means that the campus will be operating on a normal schedule. PLEASE NOTE: If your voice mail is full, or is not accepting messages, the blanket message can not be left on your voice mail and you must rely on another method of notification.
2. You may dial 609/637-6000. The greeting on this extension will inform callers whether the campus will be closing or will be delaying its opening. To avoid inundating the 637-6000 phone number, which can handle only a limited number of callers at one time, we urge you to first call your voice mail to find out whether the campus is closed.
3. The College will notify the radio stations that are listed on the document linked below. Please be aware it can take up to an hour or more to notify all stations and have the announcement aired as many other schools and organizations are phoning in their closing notifications to a limited number of people taking this information.
4. If the closing is announced during the work day (between the hours of 8:30 a.m.and 4:30 p.m.) a universal e-mail message will be sent to all users @tcnj.edu.
5. A pop up box on TCNJ’s Web site, www.tcnj.edu, will announce closing
information.
