Lori Winyard
Director
Lori Winyard is Director of Energy and Central Utilities for The College of New Jersey. Appointed in 2000, she is responsible for the management and operation of the department, comprised of a 5.2 MW combustion turbine cogeneration unit, high pressure steam boiler plant, hybrid chiller plant, electric substations, underground mechanical and electric distribution infrastructure, and HVAC/Energy Management System.
In addition, the department procures fuel and electricity, and manages the Title 5 Air Permit. Since her appointment the cogeneration unit has maintained 98% availability, The College's Energy Master Plan was published, the Central Utilities Plant was reconfigured and replaced, and major distribution infrastructure upgraded.
The College of New Jersey won the 2001 Energy Star® Award for Combined Heat and Power, and is a Founding Partner in the US EPA's Combined Heat and Power Partnership.
Winyard is a member of ASHRAE, IDEA, AEE, and ASME. Prior to her current assignment at The College, Winyard was Assistant Director of Facilities. She came to The College in 1997 from Johnson and Johnson and Corning, Inc., where she has held a variety of staff and line management positions in design and project engineering, operations, and manufacturing. She does specialized energy consulting work, as well.
She holds her undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, as well as an MBA
