2009 Summer Freshman Orientation Program

Congratulations on your acceptance to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)!

First-Year students will be expected to attend the orientation program which is scheduled according to their major. Orientation will occur Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26, 2009. Students will be notified with a letter of invitation in late May, including which day they will be expected to attend.

Note that all formal communication regarding Welcome Week will come via email. Make sure you are checking your TCNJ email on a regular basis!!!

At the Freshman Orientation Program students will be able to:

identify themselves as feeling welcomed by the College
develop reasonable expectations of the transition to the College
articulate the philosophy behind the First Year Experience progam, the Liberal Learning curriculum, and the First Seminar Program
understand the comprehensive nature of learning and the variety of learning opportunities available to them at TCNJ
successfully produce a schedule of classes
demonstrate the ability to utilize technological resources, including TESS and TCNJ email
