Student Withdrawal Process - Course and School Withdrawals
School Withdrawals
If you need to withdraw or take a leave of absence from The College of New Jersey, you must do the following:
Please review the College Withdrawal Policy
School Withdrawal Process
- Complete the Intent to Withdraw Form. After we receive the form, we will start the withdrawal/leave of absence process and a Records and Registration staff member will contact you to schedule a withdrawal interview (Non-returning Undergraduate Students ONLY).
- If you have any loans, it will be necessary for you to complete Exit Loan Counseling as described in the Student Loan Information Packet . If you fail to complete this Exit Loan Counseling, holds may be placed on your records preventing you from registering for classes at TCNJ and from receiving transcripts from the College for transfer and employment purposes.
- If you are a resident student, please anticipate an email from Residential Education and Housing with instructions on moving out. Generally, you are given 24 hours from the time and date of their e-mail to be completely checked out of your room.
- If you are withdrawing due to military activation, please review the Military Withdrawal Policy.
- If you are withdrawing due to illness, injury or for psychological reasons and you purchased Tuition Refund Insurance, you will be contacted by the insurance company directly
- Please consult TCNJ Refund and Repayment Policy regarding grades and refunds for withdrawals.
