Microsoft Windows XP Wireless Settings
These instructions are designed to describe the basic steps of setting up a Wireless device under Microsoft Windows. The actual steps may vary between the different brands of devices.
- Attach your USB PCI or PCMCIA device to the proper USB PCI or PCMCIA slot.
- Allow the Windows auto configuration wizard to complete.
- Click on Start Menu and choose Control Panel.
- Double-click on Network Connections from the dialog that pops up.
- Look for Wireless Network Connection, right click on it and choose properties.
- Choose the Wireless Networks tab from the box.
- The word TCNJTRANS should be listed under the Preferred networks heading. Click on the Properties button underneath it.
- In the new dialog box that pops up, put a check in the Data encryption (WEP Enabled) box.
- Next, put a check in the box next to Network Authentication (Shared Mode).
- Then, enter the network key of c5adc92f40 in the two network key boxes.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Note: After this your network connection should be ready to go. You can double-click on the Wireless Network icon in the bottom right of your screen to check your connection status. You should see a signal strength as well as activity of packets being sent and received
