Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University
A unique think/action tank that engages all disciplines to study every form of substance abuse as it affects our society.

 

Center for Disease Control
Comprehensive site that contains studies of alcohol abuse and use in the US.

 

Jewish Alcoholics, Chemically Dependant Persons and Significant Others
A recovery magazine for Jews and their families whose lives have been affected by alcoholism and drug addiction.

 

Mothers Against Drunk Driving
A national organization determined to stop drunk driving and to support victims of this violent crime. Site includes information about local chapters, educational resources, etc.

 

National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
A site mostly for medical professionals, but which also includes information for the public about counseling services and providers.

 

National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Provides a wealth of information on alcohol abuse and alcoholism from the National Institutes of Health database. Also includes numerous publications on alcohol issues.

 

National Institute on Drug Abuse
Information database with specifics on different drugs, organizations, etc.  Also has a special section for students and teachers.

 

PREVLINE:Prevention On-line from the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information
Includes information on specific drugs, treatment programs, testing programs, etc.

 

Web of Addictions
A resource for teachers, students and others who needed factual information about abused drugs. Created to counter the pro-drug message on many Internet sites.
