SATF Nomination for Student Members

The Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) was commissioned by TCNJ President R. Barbara Gitenstein in 2000. The Task Force supports the work of the Office of Anti-Violence Initiatives to comprehensively address the issue of campus sexual assault. The SATF is focused on establishing an environment on campus that is conducive to victims reporting assaults/abuse and accessing resources needed for healing, while perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. The SATF is comprised of volunteers from a variety of departments campus-wide, including: Athletics, Campus Police Services, Campus Wellness, Community Standards, Faculty, Health Services, Psychological Counseling Services, and Residential & Community Development.

In order to best address sexual assault on this campus, we recognize it is imperative to have the participation of students. For this reason, we have developed a nomination process to obtain the most qualified and dedicated student applicants meeting the following requirements and expectations.

Requirements:

To be nominated, a student must have completed at least 12 credits with a current GPA of 2.5. The student must also be in good judicial standing with the college.

Expectations:

•  The student member will represent student needs and concerns by informing the SATF committee of any changing student trends/culture/norms.

•  The student must be an active participant on the task force by committing to a two year term.

•  The term involves attendance at all SATF committee meetings which are held two times per month for one and one half hours.

•  The student member will be an active participant in roundtable discussions with committee members and community partners as well as on-line task force discussions.

•  The student member will be responsible for attending a SATF retreat for planning goals/objectives.

•  The student will support and/or be involved in SATF sponsored programs.

•  The student member will commit to and be sensitive to confidentiality issues discussed within the task force.
