Program Descriptions
Gender Blender (Co-Ed)
Have you wondered what others think about relationships? Do you have questions you’ve always wanted to ask the opposite gender but never have? Gender mending is a fun, conversation based program aimed at opening the communication lines and establishing a foundation for men and women to discuss sexuality, intimacy and relationships.
Bystander Intervention (Co-Ed)
Do you get angry or frustrated when others just stand by without acting? Do you want to be part of the 87% of polled TCNJ students who said they’ll intervene, but wonder how best to address difficult situations? Learn several safe intervention strategies for addressing situations and set personal goals for intervening.
Healthy Relationships (Co-Ed)
Feeling unhappy in your relationship? Fighting more often than not with your partner? Wondering what you can do to make your relationship stronger? Even if you are already in a healthy relationship, these skills can help make it even better. Develop healthy relationship skills for all types of relationships- romantic, friendship, or professional.
Please keep in mind that the Student Anti-Violence Education Peer Educators only present the above programs in their entirety. We cannot make adaptations and/or alterations to any of the three programs for your organization. We are, however, more than willing to make guest appearances and speak to your organization about our mission and program. For a guest appearance, please contact Ms. Jackie Deitch-Stackhouse, the Office of Anti-Violence Initiatives Coordinator, at 609-771-2272 or deitch@tcnj.edu for more information.

Booking a program...
When?
- The SAVE Peer Educators (PEs) are available to facilitate programs anytime throughout the academic year. You can book a program for your organization, team, or group by contacting a SAVE PE directly or reaching out to the SAVE PE Supervisor, Michelle Gervasi (609-771-2571 or gervasi@tcnj.edu).
The information you need to provide when booking a program:
- Which program you would like the SAVE PEs to facilitate.
- Name of organization hosting the program.
- Approximate size of the audience.
- Date(s) you want the program presented. SAVE PEs are most often available weeknights, Wednesday early afternoons, and Sunday evenings. Providing multiple dates gives you a better result, as SAVE PEs have to line up their schedules and find co-facilitators.
- Location of your program. Please select a venue large enough for your group. It the host’s responsibility to reserve the venue.
After the program date and location is set...
- Confirm with a SAVE PE or the SAVE PE Supervisor the program details either via phone or email; include the date, time, location, and number of attendees of the program.
- Market the program. Here are some tips:
- Create a flyer for the event, get it approved by the Office of Student Activities (BSC, 2nd floor), and hang it across campus.
- Post the program on the TCNJ on-line Calendar (if an open program).
- Create a Facebook group for your event.
- Send out an invitation/reminder e-mail your organization, team, or group about the program.
- REMEMBER: If you are hosting this program to fulfill a requirement in your Greek Assessment Packet, make sure you bring a camera. A picture with the SAVE PE facilitators and your group needs to be taken in order to get credit for the program!
