Student Awards and Recognitions

The Student Life Awards annually recognizes exceptional students for academic merit and for contributions to the life of The College.  The deadline for applications is Friday, March 16, 2007 and the awards are handed out in mid-April.  Please contact Lynette Harris at 609-771-2201 or at lharris@tcnj.edu for more information.


Scholarship Awards

Elizabeth Allen Scholarship

Awarded to a full time freshman, sophomore, or junior in need of financial assistance and demonstrating high scholarship and value to the college.

John Wandishin Scholarship

Awarded to a student who exhibits the qualities of honor, courage, leadership, scholarship, and service. The purpose of the scholarship is to help those with the potential to make a positive contribution to The College of New Jersey community. This student may not necessarily receive great public attention but is making significant efforts in their current position using their available resources. The award keeps a campaign promise to return to the students the stipend received by the Student Government Association president.

Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student from any year (freshman through senior). The award is based on financial need and academic merit. It is given in memory of students and faculty killed in the bus accident of October 1959.

Dorothy Taylor Haas Award

Awarded to a graduating senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The student must also demonstrate an extensive commitment to The College through their involvement with campus and/or community events during their undergraduate career. The award also recognizes strong leadership skills, character, and great promise for the future.

William Klepper Scholarship

Awarded to an undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and is active in student life programs, demonstrated academic achievement, and is active in at least one student organization, preferably in a leadership position. 

Wade Watkins '84 Scholarship

Awarded to an undergraduate student not necessarily in a position of great public attention, but involved in student activities; makes a positive contribution to the campus; and exhibits the qualities of leadership, scholarship, service, and having fun in the process. 

Kate Stout Scholarship for Graduate Study
Awarded to a graduating senior intending to pursue further course of study in a college or technical or professional school. Character and capability are considered.
