Teaching College Faculty and Staff to use Adaptive Technology as a Reasonable Accommodation

  • Increasing the achievement of college students with disabilities
  • Providing students with a first-rate, high quality post-secondary education through professional development of faculty, and staff
  • Educating students about the appropriate use of technology as a reasonable accommodation at the college level

TCNJ's Partners

  • Middlesex County College
  • New Jersey City University
  • Ramapo College

The partner institutions are included because they each have personnel with expertise in assistive technology, as well as demonstrated commitment to students with disabilities. These institutions also represent a cross section of colleges in the state - one urban and comprehensive, another suburban and liberal arts, and another a community college.

The Americans with Disabilities Act

No otherwise qualified individual with a disability shall, solely by reason of such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by any such entity.
