The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) strongly recommends influenza vaccination for pregnant women. We will administer the vaccine to pregnant women with written clearance from their obstetrician
You should NOT get a flu shot if:
- You have had a severe allergic reaction to eggs or to a previous
flu shot
or - You have a history of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)
If you are sick with a fever when you go to get your flu shot, you should talk to your doctor or nurse about getting your shot at a later date. However, you can get a flu shot at the same time you have a respiratory illness without fever or if you have another mild illness.
SHIP (Student Health Insurance Plan) provides coverage for most vaccinations including an annual influenza (flu) shot. Request a payment receipt at the Flu Shot Clinic. Print out a Claim Form and mail it to Bollinger Insurance (address at the top right corner of the Claim Form). Remember to always retain a copy for your personal records.
