Combined Council of Campus Ministries

The Combined Council of Campus Ministries functions to provide a wholesome and collaborative environment in which religious inquiry and practice may be fostered. It offers a basis for cooperation among the various campus ministries as they plan for meeting the religious/spiritual needs of students, faulty and staff. The Council meets each month that school is in session. The Council will occasionally sponsor Inter-faith / ecumenical events.

The Council is affiliated with The College of New Jersey through the Division of Student Affairs. Any religious organization or group that wishes to function on campus officially must make an application to, and be recognized by, the Division of Student Affairs. It is a requisite that any such group have a faculty/staff advisor or accredited minister who will not only represent the group but be responsible for the activities of the group. A list of student officers should be submitted to Student Affairs each Spring.

Recognized organizations, after consultation with the Combined Council, may schedule the regular use of the Spiritual Center directly with the scheduling office. Organizations which have a student minister will function cooperatively through the Council regarding use of the Chaplain offices located in the Spiritual Center. Chaplains may be called there at 609.771.2614.

The College of New Jersey's s new Spiritual Center is located just across from Norsworthy Hall and directly in front of Decker Hall. It's beauty is enhanced by utilizing materials from the old Alumni Chapel that was demolished to make room for the Library. The foyer is made with the slate floor of the Alumni Chapel and the stained glass has been reconstructed to offer a beautiful view for the meditation room.  Even the alter has been made, with the wonderful support of our former baseball coach, Rich Dell and his family, with the wood of the old Chapel. 

Our Campus Spiritual Leaders make time to see students, faculty and staff by appointment in the Spiritual Center at differing times of the day. They can also be located and contacted to setup a time and location at their specific listing below under Directory of Services.
