PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYMENT
Director of Service Learning The College of New Jersey,
July, 1996 to present.
Provide leadership for academic and co-curricular student
development through service learning and community service programs. Serve
on the senior leadership team of the Division of Student Life, including
Athletics, Campus Life, Residence Life, and Service Learning. Coordinate
the annual placement of 1300 first-year students in a required service
learning project as part of the First-Year Experience and "Understanding
Humanity," the college’s core curriculum. Collaborate with the Director
of General Education, twenty-five faculty, and thirty social service agencies;
implement course enrichment activities, including lectures and field trips.
Provide training and support to faculty incorporating service learning
in courses throughout the curriculum. Promote and facilitate student involvement
in volunteer community service projects; act as a referral agent and liaison
between the college and community agencies. Advise the Community Service
Coalition. Provide leadership for major departmental projects and programs,
including the Leadership and Development (LEAD) Transcript program and
the award-winning Multicultural Lecture Series. Supervise a graduate assistant,
administrative assistant, transportation personnel and support staff. Manage
operating budget; administer policies and procedures. Conduct comprehensive
program assessment and evaluation; share data with internal and external
constituencies.
Associate Director of Community Development Services / Director of
Campus Life The College of New Jersey, November, 1988 to July,
1996.
Directed programs and services of the Office of Campus
Life, providing leadership for a comprehensive student activities program
with resources of over one million dollars. Coordinated student involvement
in 150 student organizations, including eleven campus-wide programming
committees and thirty fraternities and sororities. Served on the senior
leadership team for the department of Community Development Services. Selected,
trained and supervised two professional staff and five graduate assistants.
Planned and implemented the college’s new student orientation program for
1300 entering students. Supervised Student Legal Services and the Off-Campus
Housing program. Administered polices and procedures for the campus programming
facility and student organization office space. Advised the Student Government
Association, Campus Life Board, Leadership Development Program, and the
Student Finance Board. Coordinated student leadership retreats and conferences.
Served as Greek Judicial Officer.
Leadership and Staff Development Director The College of
New Jersey, July, 1987 to July, 1988.
Developed and implemented a comprehensive training and
development program for department staff, including fifteen professionals
and eighty para-professionals in student activities and residence life.
Coordinated professional staff training committees and student leader training
programs. Supervised two graduate assistants and coordinated graduate assistant
selection. Created the Emerging Leader Program, including a six-week seminar
and three-credit course.
Program Coordinator for Campus Life The College of New
Jersey, August, 1986 to July, 1987.
Administered policies and procedures governing student
organizations. Provided resources and training for student leaders and
faculty advisors of student organizations. Supervised a graduate assistant
and advised the Student Government Association and Off-Campus Student Committee.
Produced college publications, including the official Student Handbook
and the Guidebook for Student Organizations and Advisors.
Area Director The College of New Jersey, August, 1986 to
July, 1987.
Managed community and student development efforts in a
co-educational residence hall complex housing 1100 undergraduates. Supervised
a staff of five graduate hall directors, three student managers, and twenty
community advisors. Coordinated staff implementation of developmental programs.
Adjudicated disciplinary cases, managed serious incidents, and counseled
students.

Coordinated student development program in a co-educational
