'Cafe Scientifique' Tuesdays at the RAT
Cafe Scientifique: Eat. Drink. TalkScience.
This is an opportunity for members of the campus community to discuss scientific issues in an informal setting. Everyone who wants to learn more about current topics in science are welcome. No background in science is required.
Here is our motto: No pressure, no techno-babble, no equations, no graphs--just your questions and informative answers from a scientist.
The topic of this inaugural session, Tuesday October 17, 2006, will be Modern Astronomy, conducted by Dr. Thulsi Wickramasinghe from the Physics Department. Thulsi will provide a very short talk on some of his interests and research, and the rest of the time will be devoted to answering your questions about the stars.
This monthly series is sponsored by the Physics Club, in conjunction with other clubs in the School of Science. Check the School of Science 'Events and Meetings' calendar for future dates and topics. It is an all ages event, but alcohol can be served to those over 21 only.
