Evolutionary Perspectives on Ecological and Economic Games
"Evolutionary Perspectives on Ecological and Economic Games" is the title of a School of Science Colloquium to be held March 29, 2006 at 3 p.m. in Science Complex room P101. In this talk Professor Simon Levin, Moffett Professor of Biology and Director, Center for BioComplexity, Princeton University, will explain how not only are the ecological problems confronting us only solvable when placed in an economic context, but ecological and economic systems are, in a sense, special cases of one another.
Professor Levin's research interests are broadly interdisciplinary
in nature, spanning mathematics as well as the life and social sciences.
In recognition of his groundbreaking research, he was recently awarded
the 2005 Kyoto Prize in Basic Science. All are invited and refreshments
will be served.
