Two students Awarded Goldwater Scholarships
Krzysztof Glomski and Michael D. Green have been awarded the Barry
M. Goldwater Scholarship. This is the first time that two scholarships
have been received in the same year at TCNJ.
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship provides $7,500 per year for educational
expenses to sophomores and juniors majoring in math, science, or engineering.
The purpose of the award is to encourage outstanding students to pursue
careers and advanced degrees in these fields. In the past 7 years,
6 TCNJ students have have received this highly competitive scholarship,
all of whom have been Biology majors or Biology and Chemistry double
majors. This year, only six students from New Jersey institutions
received the award and the other 4 are Princeton University students.
A total of 320 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarships were awarded to sophomores
and juniors across the United States.
Krzysztof's career Goal is to earn an M.D./Ph.D. in Oncology and to
conduct research as a medical scientist specializing in the treatment
of human cancer. Michael's career goal is to earn an M.D./Ph.D. in
Biology and to conduct research within the field of cellular biology
with respect to infectious diseases.
