Prof.Jean-Michel Speaks at International Conference

Dr. Jean-Michelet Jean-Michel of the Mathematics Department has been invited to speak at the American Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Conference. His topic is Silnikov Homoclinic Orbits in Semiconductor Lasers. In the differential equations describing the dynamics of a semiconductor laser, a Silnikov homoclinic orbit is a signature of chaotic behavior. Dr. Jean-Michel will present an analytical method for detecting the presence of this phenomenon. The conference will take place in Poitiers, France June 25-28,2006. More information may be found at www.aimsciences.org/AIMS-Conference/2006.
