TCNJ Professors Make Many Contributions to Mathematics Community
The Mathematical Association of America, the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Sciences, and the Institute for Advanced Study are among the professional mathematics groups in which TCNJ professors are making significant contributions, which ultimately benefit students.
The Mathematical Association of America continues to receive many
presentations and services. Drs. Tom Hagedorn and Karen Clark
will participate in a panel on "Webwork, a Web Based Interactive Homework
System" at the Summer 2006 Meeting in Knoxville, TN in August. Dr.
Hagedorn was invited to speak at New Jersey City University on April
20 as part of the"Math Awareness Day" of that institution. His
talk was entitled "Da Visa Code: The Mathematics of Internet
Security". Also, Dr. Hagedorn will be the conference director for
the 4th annual Garden State Undergraduate Mathematics Conference in
Spring 2007. Dr. Clark has accepted a second three year term as treasurer
of the New Jersey section of the MAA.
Dr. Cindy Curtis- Budka will be a participant this summer in the
Institute for Advanced Study/Park City research program. This
program will focus on Low-Dimensional Topology. Dr. Chamont
Wang will present a paper at the Center for Discrete Mathematics and
Theoretical Computer Sciences meeting on Data Mining this summer at
Rutgers University.
