Society of Physics Students Event
The Society of Physics Students meeting, held Saturday, February 26,2005, had 87 participants and included many events. Speakers were the Director of the National Society of Physics Students, Dr. Gary White, and Dr. J. Hughes, an astrophysicist from Rutgers University. A panel discussion on career opportunities after obtaining a bachelor's degree, including graduate school, was held. Panelists were three very successful TCNJ alumni. Ray Pfeiffer gave two Planetarium shows and TCNJ physics majors led four tours of our facilities.
Every visitor was very impressed with our facilities, but above all, with the enthusiasm and hospitality shown by our 27 participating students. Dr.Hughes was astounded by the involvement of our students in research. Dr. White, who participates in most SPS meetings countrywide, was impressed by the great turnout and enthusiasm displayed. Both congratulated us for the level of activity of our Physics Club.
