Society of Physics Students Named Outstanding Chapter
The Society of Physics Students (SPS), also known as TCNJ Physics
Club, has been selected as an Outstanding SPS Chapter for the 2004-2005
academic year. This is the first time our Physics Club has received
such an honor. The award was announced by Dr. Gary White, SPS Director,
who indicates "Less than 10% of the SPS chapters nationwide are
so honored, about one per state. The selection is based on the depth
and breath of SPS activities conducted by your chapter in such areas
as physics research, public science outreach, physics tutoring programs,
hosting and representation at physics meetings, and providing social
interaction for chapter members."
Our chapter conducted activities such as fundraising, visits to museums,
faculty-student social activities, departmental competitions, and
organization of a very successful regional meeting. The Physics Club
is hard at work trying to repeat this accomplishment this year.
