Dr. Pulimood, Computer Science Department, Receives Research Award
Dr. Monisha Pulimood, Department of Computer Science, has received
notification of a research award from the Computing Research Association.
This competitive program required submission of a research proposal,
jointly prepared by Dr. Pulimood and three sponsored students. Their
proposal was one of the highest ranking submissions to this national
program. The title of the project is "Design, Implementation, and
Optimization of Features in a Mobile Computational Language for Internet
Programming". Three Computer Science undergraduates, Gregory Adkins,
Elizabeth Carter, and Amanda Micai, each will receive a research stipend
to support their work over the upcoming academic year. The award is
being funded under the "Collaborative Research Environment for Undergraduates
in Computer Science and Engineering (CREU)" program, sponsored by
the "Computing Research Association Committee on the Status of Women
in Computing Research (CRA-W)". Funding for the CREU program is sponsored
by the National Science Foundation with the goal of increasing diversity
in graduate school, particularly in Computer Science and Engineering
