Professor Steve Klug (Biology) Nominated for the Research and Development Council of New Jersey’s “Educator of the Year” Award
Professor Steve Klug of the Biology Department has been nominated
for the Research and Development Council of New Jersey’s “Educator
of the Year” award. This award “recognizes outstanding
achievement in furthering the advancement of research and development
[in New Jersey] through education.” Past awardees include Dr.
Stanley Bergen of UMDNJ, and Dr. Shirley Tilghman of Princeton. This
year’s award focuses on “dedicated educators [who] have
achieved distinction in their work but perhaps not as much recognition,
as their exposure may have been limited.” Dr. Klug’s nomination
is based on his extensive work in developing the Biology Department’s
Summer Internship program, as well as his accomplishments in teaching,
textbook writing, and chairing the department for many years. The
winner of the award will be announced later this fall.
