Washington D.C. Workshop Scholarship
2009 Women & Science/Technology Policy Seminar – January 5-9 in Washington, DC $200 Scholarships available.
PLEN is thrilled to announce that they have received funding again this year, and will be offering scholarships to interested students. With the generous support of Abbott, PLEN will provide $200 SCHOLARSHIPS to 35 students participating in the seminar. The scholarship will be used to help cover the seminar fees. We’ve extended the registration deadline to Wednesday, December 3 to accommodate additional students’ registrations.
For a decade, this program has given women studying science and technology an exciting opportunity to learn about the public policy dimensions of their work from women leaders in the field. Previous program participants have raved about how the program opens their eyes to science-related career paths that they never knew existed.
Seminar participants meet and learn from women leaders in the field of science/technology policy, discuss public policy issues relating to science and technology and learn how public policies affecting science and technology are shaped.
Students in past programs have met with women leaders from:
- Congress
- The White House Office on Science and Technology Policy
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
- Abbott Laboratories
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Federal Drug Administration (FDA)
- National Science Foundation (NSF)
The registration deadline is Wednesday, December 3, 2008.
