All You Need to Know about Billing

Winter (J-Term) Session

TCNJ is offering a Winter session this coming January 2012. The tuition and fee charges (if applicable) for this session will be included on the same billing statement as the Spring 2012 tuition and fee charges.

 

The Winter (J-Term) 2012 session tuition bill will be available on Friday, November 18, 2011.

 

The Spring 2012 tuition bill will be available Friday, November 18, 2011.

 

Please log in to PAWS to review your bill and submit payment.

Payment will be due no later than Wednesday, January 4, 2012.

If your entire bill is not paid by the posted due date you will be subject to deletion of your Spring 2012 class schedule and loss of campus housing (if applicable). Late payments are subject to a late payment fine equal to 1.5% of the outstanding balance or $25 whichever is greater. The late fine will be assessed monthly as long as an outstanding balance remains.

 

Attendance Confirmation Requirement

TCNJ requires all students to confirm their attendance each semester prior to the first day of classes. To confirm your attendance for the Spring 2012 semester, follow the directions below.

To confirm your attendance or non-attendance

Logon on at: https://my.tcnj.edu/

Click on PAWS

In Self Service, click on Student Center, then click on the Attendance Confirmation link located in the Finance section and follow the instructions.


PAYMENT OPTIONS

  • We accept in person payments of cash or check and online payments of credit card (MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) and E-Check. A 2.35% convenience fee is charged by the credit card company.

AUXILIARY ACCESS USER

  • The Office of Student Accounts has implemented a system by which a student can register up to three people other than themselves to receive billing email notifications and/or to access information regarding their student account
  • Please visit PAWS SELF SERVICE and click on the AUXILIARY ACCESS link. (Login to myTCNJ)
  • To log-in as an Auxiliary Access User with your created user name and password, click Auxiliary Access User Sign-In

STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE

  • State law requires all full-time students to have health insurance coverage. The health insurance fee of $150.00 per semester must be paid with tuition and fees each semester.
  • Should you choose to waive this insurance; the $150.00 fee will be refunded.
  • This fee may be waived for the Spring 2012 semester until January 11, 2012. The waiver form will be sent to the student's TCNJ e-mail account towards the end of the fall semester. There will be no exceptions made for waivers after the deadline date. Waivers may only be processed through the e-mail sent to the student's TCNJ e-mail account. No in-person waivers will be accepted.

PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

  • The Department of Education requires that all private scholarships and grants be reported to the College. In order for your student account to be credited with the correct award amount, please complete and submit a separate Scholarship Disclosure Information Form for each outside award that you will receive.
  • If you will be receiving private scholarships please complete:

MANDATORY STUDENT FEES

  • The student fees listed on your bill are charged to ALL students regardless of their student status. Fees are not based on specific services utilized.
  • Further descriptions of the fees are provided on the Tuition & Fees page.

CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE

  • In order to maintain our highest quality of customer service and dedication to the students of TCNJ, attendance confirmation is required. Non-compliance with this requirement could jeopardize your course schedule and on-campus housing. TCNJ requires you to confirm or decline your attendance each semester.

REFUND DIRECT DEPOSIT

  • Any credit balance that is created by a Financial Aid Award, overpayment or reversal of a charge can be refunded to you by either refund check or direct deposit to your bank account.
  • To Enroll in Direct Deposit:
    i. (Login to myTCNJ)
    ii. Click on PAWS
    iii. In Self Service, click on Student Center, then click on the Refund Direct Deposit link located in the Finances section and follow the instructions.

TCNJ WITHDRAWAL POLICY

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

  • If you are applying for financial aid make sure that you have finalized all paperwork. If your file remains incomplete your aid award will be delayed.
  • If you have completed your paperwork, financial aid awards will begin to be available for your review on PAWS starting….
  • Please remember that you must accept all loans (Perkins, Nursing and/or all Staffords) via PAWS, before they will show as estimated aid on your bill. Once accepted, please allow up to three business days for the estimated loan funds to appear on your bill.

COLLEGE APPROVED PAYMENT PLAN

  • The only payment plan approved for use at The College of New Jersey is the TuitionPay Plan from Sallie Mae.
  • Visit the Tuition Payment Plan page for more information.
  • If you are utilizing the TuitionPay payment plan for the spring semester, please be sure to verify that your contract amount will cover the spring tuition bill in its entirety. If not, you can adjust your contract amount with TuitionPay directly at 1-877-279-6092 or by contacting the College’s payment plan representative at 609-771-3488.

TUITION REFUND INSURANCE

  • TCNJ is pleased to offer Tuition Refund Insurance provided by Bollinger Insurance.

PARKING: HOW TO OBTAIN A PARKING DECAL:

  • Parking decals are available in the Office of Student Accounts. Please bring your vehicle registration in order to purchase a vehicle decal. Payment will be required at the time of purchase.
  • Yearly residential fee is $314.00
  • Yearly commuter fee is $112.35
  • FIRST YEAR (FRESHMAN) RESIDENTIAL STUDENT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE A PARKING DECAL
