ATTENTION ALL STAFFORD AND PLUS LOAN BORROWERS: It has come to our attention that Bank of America is not lending to the students of The College of New Jersey, please choose another lender.

ATTENTION ALL PLUS AND ALTERNATIVE LOAN APPLICANTS: Please check TESS regularly for your loan to appear as a credit on your bill. Please note these loans can only be certified if you have a completed FAFSA on file and you have received an official financial aid award from TCNJ.

Borrowers have the right and the ability to select the loan provider of their choice.

In your research to select a loan lender you should consider the following criteria:

• What are the interest rates and terms of the loan?
• Are there any upfront and/or back end fees?
• What does the loan application process entail, can you apply online?
• What are the repayment plans available?
• What borrow benefits and/or interest rate reductions are offered to those who pay on time or make electronic payments?
• What are the credit considerations for the loan, and is a co-signer required?
• Are these loans typically sold to other lenders?
• What is the ability of your lender to service all your loans, and what level of customer service is available?

	Entrance and Exit Loan Counseling ALL student loan borrowers at TCNJ are required to participate in Entrance and Exit Student Loan Counseling. TEACH Grant recipients are also required to complete Entrance Counseling.
	Federal Stafford Loan After completing the FAFSA, and being offered and accepting your Stafford Loan, you will receive an email which includes instructions on how to select your lender. Questions regarding this process should be directed to Ms. Hillman at HESAA at (609) 584-4480 ext. 5045.
