As a Social Studies/ History teacher my teaching philosophy is still developing. Therefore, I have adopted an eclectic approach with regard to my teaching philosophy, incorporating teaching methods and strategies that I have found effective in the classroom. To that end I have found that the study of history is bested served thru strategies that make the study of history interesting and exciting to students. Thru a balance of direct instruction, individual work, and co-operative learning techniques students become engaged and truly interested in the material. I also believe that to reach all students in the classroom  teacher's must include differentiated instruction that included kinetic activities to help students encode information.  I look forward to expanding, polishing, and refining my teaching philosophy as I continue my teaching career.
