How can I aid my students in identifying relevant historical information when they read their textbooks and/or handout materials?

 

 

The reason I picked this topic centers on the fact students often read their textbooks and fail to identify what information is relevant to the study of a specific topic. I find that students often focus on facts that are secondary, often bypassing information that has much more historical relevance.
