Summer Study in "The Castle" - England
The College of New Jersey and the Department of English, in collaboration with the Office of International and Off-Campus Programs and Summer School, is pleased to announce the 2008 Summer Program in England.

Program Information
LIT 370: Special Topics: “Literary Landscapes”
4 credit hours (1 academic unit)
This is an opportunity for students of all majors to live in England and study some of the country's most fascinating literature. This year it is being held at the beautiful Harlaxton "Castle" in the Midlands, where courses have been held for the past four years .
We will be reading 4 literary texts and bringing them to life:
Harry Potter, Dracula, Wuthering Heights, and Macbeth.
Travel includes trips to Northumberland, Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Castle, Bamburg, Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Whitby, and Haworth. 4 days in Scotland include trips to the Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, Arthur's Seat, Rosslyn Chapel, and Hollyroodhouse Palace.
Faculty
Dr. Michele Tarter, Program Director, is an Associate Professor of English at the School of Culture and Society.
Accommodations & Meals
Students live at Harlaxton Manor and receive three meals per day there (you will be responsible for a few lunches and dinners while on class trips). This also includes a formal, elegant dinner banquet in the castle ballroom at the conclusion of our stay. Accommodation at Bed and Breakfast's while on trips is included.
Program Costs
The program cost is $ 4870
Initial Deposit (non-refundable)- on or before January 29, 2008 : $ 870
First deposit - February 11, 2008: $ 1500
Second deposit - March 11, 2008: $ 1500
Third deposit - April 11, 2008: $ 1000
Includes:
- TCNJ Tuition (based on TCNJ In-State Tuition)
- Accommodation at Harlaxton Manor and all Bed and Breakfast's
- Three meals/day, except for a few lunches and dinners on class trips
- Transportation for trips, and Shuttle to/from Heathrow Airport
- All entrance fees and tickets on class trips
(Airfare is not included and will be arranged separately)

Cancellation and Refunds
Initial deposit is non-refundable
- 60-120 days before the start of the tour 75% of the amount paid (excluding the initial deposit)
- 30-59 days before the start of the tour 50%
- Less than 30 days before the tour 25%

All Forms labeled as Available "On-Line" must be downloaded, filled out, and brought in together to The Office of International and Off-Campus Programs and Summer School, Green Hall, Room 111. We will not accept your paperwork if there are pieces missing.
The Medical Exam Report is the only form that can be brought in separately. The due date for the Medical Exam Report will be posted.

(Have this form filled out as soon as possible, preferably anywhere from 1-6 months before you leave, since appointments fill up near the end of the school year) |
