In March, participating students will host Frankfurt students and their professors at TCNJ. This 2-week visit will provide an opportunity for students and faculty to work together, participate in seminars, group critiques, field trips and social events and assist in the installation of Frankfurt student's work in TCNJ's gallery.

TCNJ students will, in turn, visit Frankfurt, Germany in July 2010 and prepare an installation of their work in the art gallery at Johann Wolfgamg Goethe-University, Frankfurt with help from the German students. TCNJ students will also live with their German collaborators and their families.

2-week Germany Experience will include :

  • student-guided tours of sites and museums
  • participation in German students daily lives
  • installation and exhibition of student work at Frankfurt University

The goal of the program is to expand students' awareness of the cultural differences between the two countries, introduce TCNJ students to art practices in Germany, give TCNJ students a collaborative art experience working and living with German art students, expose students to the ideas and constructive criticism of Goethe Art faculty and students, and introduce stduents to the art and cultural environment surrounding Frankfurt. Students will be introduced to the art and culture in and surrounding Frankfurt through field trips, lectures and discussions in relationship to the museum visits and art related events, and guided completion of research projects by both TCNJ and Frankfurt Johann Wolfgang Goethe University faculty.
