Distortions will feature work by Gilberto Esparza, Marcela Armas, Gerardo García de la Garza, Iván Abreu, Ale de la Puente, and Iván Puig. This exhibit will explore the multiple ways of exercising hostility - methods and devices that are not necessarily acts of violence or cruelty, but are rather twists of interpretation or games of obstruction regarding histories. Non-hospitable means are employed to deal with information, image and memory, and, above all, the experience of any given space. Presence is in itself and always has been tension. Common spaces that may be interpreted as camouflaged war zones or as the poetics of a community are investigated through a variety of media.
