Crew is a club sport at The
College of New Jersey, located in Ewing, NJ. We
currently have 47 members, 4 boats, and a
trailer, as well as one dedicated coach. We
practice in Mercer County Park Northwest which
is located in Hopewell and Lawrence Township,
sharing water time with other rowing
organizations such as, the Men's National Team
and Princeton National Rowing Association. The
team competes during the spring season on rivers
throughout the Northeast, including the
Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, PA, Cooper
River in Camden, NJ, and the Occoquan Reservoir
in Lorton, VA
practice
The team practices on the water in the Spring,
Monday through Friday from 5:15 to 6:30 AM. Team
practices are held throughout the Fall and
Winter at the PEC, utilizing weight training
equipment as well as in the Recreation Center
where there is an entire room dedicated to
ergometers. Team erg practices are held
throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring season in
the team's erg room. joining the team
All students are encouraged to join the team
whether they have had high-school rowing
experience or not. The majority of the current
members of the team did not row in high-school
and learned to row during their novice year on
the team. Although high-school experience is a
plus, general fitness as well as dedication to
the team are all that we require.
Aside from rowers, the team is always looking
for more coxswains. If you are short of stature
and enthusiastic about motivating others, give
coxing a try!
If you are attending or will soon be attending
The College of New Jersey and are interested in
joining the crew team, please do not hesitate to
e-mail the account at tcnjcrew@gmail.com. |
